Kids Songwriting Workshop

Songwriting is often depicted as a magical unexplained process that certain people are just blessed with the gift of channeling.  Hidden under the surface of songs is structure based on a set of rules and guidelines.  Our workshop demystifies this process through a study of popular songwriting with handy hints and foolproof techniques for achieving a finished song.

The classes begin with a short explanation of songwriting followed by a set of exercises to help trigger the creative process. The group then participates in a co-write, whereby participants use the ideas from the completed exercises to create a song.

The overall aim of the workshop is to provide students with the tools to go out and create their own music.

The Teacher

Vanessa Muir is an established Australian singer songwriter who has performed at major Australian festivals as wells as Internationally. She has a vast list of songwriting credits with some of Australia’s most well know artists.

The songwriting workshop is a 4 hour class held during school holidays and at various dates throughout the school term. Please contact us if you would like to be notified of upcoming dates.
